Break up your journey with a stopover for a day or two - it makes a longhaul flight MUCH easier (especially with children) and Hong Kong is absolutely brilliant for sightseeing (Victoria Peak & the cross harbour ferry), shopping (markets galore!) and food (too many options to list!).
